Gabriela Adagio's Story-Chapter 3, By C.J. Ruby 10/06/06
As the night of chaos and destruction in Los Angeles draws nigh Gabriela and her friends earnestly prepare to save as many sleepers from the destruction as possible.
Gabi plays host to the bands arriving for the concert convincing them to stay in Fresno rather than LA. Ike Black seems to enjoy the hedonistic life of a Cultist and parties with the Red Hot Chile Peppers while Gabriela jams with them. She and Ike are successful in keeping the Chiles from staying in LA. Gabi introduced Ursula to Flea and these two got together for a tattooing session (possibly more).
Meanwhile Max got some strange readings on his device to plant false/positive info at the USGS; he suspects Technocracy involvement and proceeds with extreme caution.
In the grim LA night Macair and Ursula continue to bestow the "good death" on those they find deserving (more than 50 so far). They notice a considerable increase of police patrolling their hunting grounds and Macair notes that there are more of the undead traversing the territory. They prudently send 5 more souls to a better place and narrowly avoid detection, or do they? There have been a lot of cats around.

Ursula continues her tattooing tryst with Flea and finishes the "HOP ON" tattoo on his abdomen, they seem to be getting on very well.
Gabriela spends some time in meditation performing a rote (mind & time) to determine whether she has overlooked anything critical in her plans for the Aid Concert.
Max causes the false/positive using the force of his will. Success; maybe to successful, the media immediately starts reporting the results much sooner than Max feels is possible. Max asks Gabriela to perform a Mind/Time rote to determine if the Technocracy is involved. She believes they are, but she hasn't had involvement with them like Max has and thus doesn't think it's such a big deal. Gabi still thinks of Max as a Technocrat.

Rosaline and Andres leave LA with the families, Flower and Shelton plan to attend the concert and Matiao plans to stick it out in the city to monitor the destruction.
Time to leave for the concert and ol' what's his name is nearly left behind. If he hadn't been one of the drivers he would have been.
At the concert Ike notices unmarked choppers patrolling the area and hears some disturbing chatter on the radio, the Technocracy are listening in, he warns everyone not to perform spells with wide effects, they are being monitored. Max and Ike keep track of the watchers.
Gabriela sings, but isn't a big hit with the early crowd, they are a bunch of rednecks waiting for John Cougar and Willy.
Macair patrols the crowd and detects a couple of Vampires among the sleepers. The female with great presence (Diana Von Gesner) leaves in a limousine, but the male stays. He is pretending to be a reporter he's wearing a press pass and carrying what appears to be a small tape recorder (could it be a weapon?).
When the Chiles go on Gabriela detects a Mind effect going off, she does what she can to suppress it and is very successful the effect fizzles. One of the Chiles is a Mage. Gabi meets them in the VIP tent to congratulate them and she mind nudges each of them as she gives them a hug and kiss on the cheek. Flea responds and Gabi takes him aside and describes what is happening and tells him the real reason for the concert. Flea is cool with it and says he'll help if he can.
Ursula hears the mournful howl of a werewolf in the hills beyond Fresno; certainly it is mourning the triumph of the Wyrm and the ruination of LA.
[Ursula also finds out about a crystal ball she has been given. It is a spying ball, Mind 3 / Correspondence 1, a powerful Talisman.]
Meanwhile Macair does a little vampire hunting. He gets the pseudo reporter/vamp thrown out of the concert grounds and puts an end to the vampire in a gunfight. The noise of the concert covers the gunfire - hopefully.
